Antony & Cleopatra Panel Discussion at 50 Broad Street on Tuesday June 28th

Join us for a fascinating evening of drama and discussion!

This summer Creation Theatre brings one of the most compelling love stories of all time to the rooftops of Oxford. From the sensuality of Alexandria to the austerity of Rome, Shakespeare’s romantic panorama is brought vividly to life. The spectacular rooftop Amphitheatre at the Said Business School is the ideal setting for a performance which encapsulates both the political intrigue and the tragic grandeur of Cleopatra and Marc Antony’s tempestuous relationship.

Our culture’s fascination with famous couples can be seen on the front page of every glossy magazine, and Creation Theatre bring us Shakespeare’s dramatisation of the most famous love affair in history.

Our panel discussion features Adrian Goldsworthy, author of Antony and Cleopatra – a factual biography of these iconic figures; Diane Purkiss, fellow and tutor of English at Keble College, Oxford, and Helen Tennison, the director of Creation Theatre’s play.

Plus – the actors playing Antony and Cleopatra will be with us too, performing dramatic readings.

Tickets cost £2 and can be obtained by telephoning or visiting the Customer Service Department, Second Floor, Blackwell Bookshop, Oxford. 01865 333623.
