New From Harvard – “The Classical Tradition”

A indispensible addition to every scholar’s shelf, “The Classical Tradition” offers a detailed look at all aspects of the reception of Greek and Roman culture by later societies. Harvard University Press have assembled an “all-star” cast of academics for this prestigious project, under the leadership of Anthony Grafton, Glenn Most and Salvatore Settis. The entries are arranged alphabetically by subject and each one aims to demonstrate the enormous influence the ancient world has had on the modern. There are a generous number of colour photographs. On top of all this, Blackwell is proud to offer an additional £4.00 off the already great value list price.

Classics Titles from The History Press

Blackwell Classics Department proudly presents our new promotion on both new and back catalogue titles from the History Press, with up to £3.00 off the publishers’ price on a number of titles, including John White’s biography of Aurelian, Lawrence Keppie’s archaeological study of the Bay of Naples and Paul Bidwell’s guide to Roman forts in Britain amongst others.

The History Press is the largest local history publisher in the U.K, producing over 500 books annually at great value prices. Their Roman Britain list is particularly extensive, catering for both the amateur enthusiast as well as the more serious scholar. We are confident Blackwell customers will find much here to inform and entertain them.

We would like to thank Paul Field for all his kind help in putting together this promotion.
